Kathy trained as a clinical psychologist in New Zealand, and began working in Melbourne in 2004. She has worked in the public and private sectors, in community mental health services, and cancer and palliative care services. In particular, she worked in treatment programs for people with borderline personality disorder for ten years, and co-ordinated the Alfred’s DBT programme. She has been in private practice since 2006, full-time since 2011. She is registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, and has clinical endorsement.

While Kathy’s initial training was in cognitive-behaviour therapy, she has also worked extensively with mindfulness-based therapies. She qualified as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in 2012.

Kathy moved to the far south coast of NSW in late 2018, and is practicing in Narooma.

Kathy’s previous career was as an academic historian.
